Your Scope
We are looking for a Consolidation Officer to join our Group Finance team. The Consolidation Officer is preparing accurate monthly/quarterly consolidated accounts whilst ensuring that the internal and external reporting deadlines are met. The quarterly and yearly consolidated financial statements are prepared for both management & external publication. You support the (external) audit processes and will be participating in projects.
In this role you report into the Group Financial Reporting Manager. Your key focus areas are the following:

Financial consolidation and reporting role

  • Support the Group’s multi-currency consolidation process (including joint ventures) for both internal management and statutory purposes
  • Prepare KPI reporting
  • Support improvements in the quality of the Group’s consolidated financial reporting
  • Point of contact for advice in a broad range of accounting related topics, including but not limited to (Belgian) GAAP and IFRS discussions, intercompany flows, consolidation accounting, Equity roll forward, …
  • Review of the consolidated balance sheet and P&L, make fluctuation analysis and assist in the cash flow statement
  • Support the team in making the consolidated annual accounts in IFRS
  • Follow up & posting of the IFRS 16 lease contracts for the group
  • Administer, develop and improve the consolidation tool and process
  • Take responsibility in the built & maintenance of the group accounting manual & IFRS manual
  • Working with the Group Financial Reporting Manager to prepare qualitative consolidated reports for the senior management team

Bring in accounting know-how to the organization to support several projects

Your profile

  • You have a passion for accounting and have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in an accounting, audit or a consolidation function
  • Experience in consolidation and/or a multi-national context is a plus
  • You have a master degree in finance
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Group Accounting processes (AP/AR/R2R)
  • You have strong analytical skills including ability to rapidly interpret, concisely explain and act on complex information
  • You are IT-minded and have a very good knowledge of Excel. Knowledge of SAP and Prophix (Sigma Conso) is a plus
  • You are a team player who enjoys working with people and multi-location teams
  • You have a hands-on, no-nonsense approach, you love to take initiative
  • Ability to work confidential with business-critical information
  • Problem solver with a capacity to find agreement
  • Good experience in Belgian GAAP and IFRS is a plus
  • You are fluent in English, Dutch and French
