  • Post-secondary education from a recognized institution OR an acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience

EXPERIENCES:

  • Significant experience in a client service environment.
  • Experience working in an office setting providing reception or administrative support.
  • Experience prioritizing and maintaining relationships with multiple stakeholders by exhibiting strong attention to detail, adaptability, and analytical skills.
  • Experience with multitasking, working in a fast-paced environment and modifying priorities based off of the needs of the organization.
  • Experience collaborating with others and working in a team.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Conservative Party of Canada as well as the current political landscape.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Office of MP Cody is currently looking to staff the position of Constituency Assistant.
In this role, you will manage, triage and review Member’s emails and communications, prioritize, sort and evaluate correspondence and distribute key information to constituents. You will act as the first line of response with constituents for all incoming cases while providing administrative and business services to the Member.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support constituents by providing strong client service by actively listening, showing empathy, and helping individuals navigate their concerns effectively. While technical expertise can be developed through training, the ability to engage with professionalism and compassion is essential for the role.
  • Manage multiple priorities and a fast volume work environment by demonstrating strong organizational skills, adaptability, and the ability to remain focused and effective under pressure.
  • Creates and maintains systems to monitor requests and/or questions from constituents.
  • Assist constituents for all incoming cases (e.g. immigration, Canada Revenue and Old Age Security files) and provides information, advice and support in person, over the telephone and in writing.
  • Contacts government services on behalf of constituents to obtain more information and follow up on available national programs as well as to seek and achieve resolution in all cases and follows up with constituents throughout the client file life cycle. Ensures cases are dealt with in a sensitive, confidential and timely manner.
  • Drafts responses to constituent emails and letters, including on general policy and constituency casework issues.
  • Helps with special projects that aim to improve the effectiveness of the office’s administrative operations.
