The Opportunity
We have a great opportunity for a Construct Team lead to join our team in Sydney. This position is responsible for providing leadership and Project Management for the Delivery of Infrastructure Deployment projects of the Vocus Fibre network
The Team Leader is responsible for the Deployment of assigned Infrastructure projects to specified timeframes within budget, and in accordance with agreed quality standards and providing direct leadership to a team/s of Project Managers, Project Coordinators and Assistants.

What you’ll be doing day-to-day

  • Manage and Coordinate between various internal and external teams which include Managers, Colleagues, Contractors, Building Owners/Managers, Councils and Customers to ensure effective relationships and ensure that each project runs smoothly and follow rules and procedures of all involved.
  • Provide support to the strategic management and development of the project team.
  • Monitor and drive performance of project team members.
  • Mentor and coach project team members to increase productivity and team outcomes
  • Work to assigned and monitor progress and performance of project schedules and communicate milestones to required stakeholders
  • Prioritise assigned Tasks and Milestones to deliver projects to meet specified dates in a cost effective and quality manner.
  • Communicate effectively to all stakeholders and customer throughout the project
  • To manage materials and resources to meet the demands of the project deliverables.
  • Provide direction as appropriate to contractors on carrying out allocated tasks
  • WHSEQ Compliance – Safety In Design and Construction requirements
  • Support and provide Network and Service Assurance deliverables where required.
  • Contractor Management focusing on Budget, Time and Quality components of the delivery life cycle
  • Facilitate Network records & system data through to As Built receipt and approval for projects delivered
  • Adhere to Processes & Standards
  • Provide various reports and other duties as requested by management
  • Provide support to new Technology introductions.
  • Conduct site inspections, surveys or onsite meetings •
  • Negotiating site access with relevant stakeholders and comply with legislative requirements including the Telecommunications Act.
  • The Team Leader is also responsible for following Project Management accountabilities for the individual and the team they lead,

What you’ll bring to this role

  • Previous experience in a leadership role
  • Previous experience in telecommunications infrastructure deployment
  • High level of experience managing projects
  • Extensive experience in contractor management (internal and external plant).
  • Contract management
  • Good computer literacy
  • High level experience using Microsoft Office packages/software
  • Strong leadership characteristics
  • Excellent written & oral communications skills • Ability to work effectively within a team
  • High level of customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Project Management, External and Internal Plant
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to exercise independent judgment and work with no supervision.
  • Strong administration and organisational skills.
  • Highly developed problem solving skills and co-ordination skills.

  • Able to work in a team environment while pressure is applied and without losing sight of the goals and time frames.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Electronics/Communications Engineering or Project Management and leadership/management certification
