JOB DESCRIPTION: CONSTRUCTION ACCOUNTANT

Located in Delta, BC, Niradia Group of Companies (the “Company”) is a privately owned organization that has long-standing experience, a proven record of accomplishments and a well-respected presence in Western Canada in the construction, real estate, hospitality and property management industries. Properties and projects span British Columbia, Alberta and the Western United States.
We are currently looking for a Construction Accountant to join our talented team. The successful candidate will work directly with the Manager and will be an integral part of this highly successful, rapidly-growing company. This individual will have experience in the industry and will lead with a strong desire to accomplish ambitious goals. You are not afraid of tackling unfamiliar challenges and enjoy working with different types of people to come to solutions.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2 + years of progressive experience in either a full-cycle accounting environment or a public practice accounting firm, reviewing financials, and working papers
  • Construction Accounting experience is an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Strong computer skills with experience on software including: Microsoft Office, Excel, Sage, and Quickbooks.
  • Sage 300 CRE is considered and asset

Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting packages including supporting working papers, month/year-end reconciliations and journal entries
  • Analyze the monthly, quarterly and annual results of the companies to ensure the results are in line with the expectation for the companies and follow up and resolve any issues identified
  • Prepare GST and PST returns
  • Review monthly, quarterly and/or annual GST returns including analysis supporting the amounts remitted
  • Assist with the preparation of annual corporate tax returns
  • Support cash management and treasury requirements
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by management
