Position Title: Construction Accounting Assistant

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, ideally in the construction or related industry.
Familiarity with construction accounting practices such as job costing and subcontractor billing is a plus.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Sage preferred).
Strong organizational and communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with Procore, Textura, or similar platforms is a plus.
Discretion in handling sensitive financial and business information.

Responsibilities

Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions including invoice entry, vendor payments, and reconciliations.
Assist in preparing job cost reports, tracking project budgets, and communicating with project managers on cost variances.
Maintain organized records of purchase orders, subcontractor pay apps, lien waivers, and project billing documentation.
Help process certified payroll and prevailing wage documentation for applicable projects.
Collect receipts and maintain expense logs.
Monitor subcontractor compliance including insurance certificates and W-9s.
Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to resolve billing issues.
Help prepare for internal and external audits, maintaining complete and accurate financial records.
Learn and support use of construction software platforms (e.g., Sage, Procore).
