Description

Anderson Knight is currently recruiting a Construction Buyer for one of our clients on a full-time permanent basis.
Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are now looking to strengthen their commercial team with the appointment of an experienced Construction Buyer.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the pre-construction and live project phases, supporting multiple site teams by ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services. This is a key position that requires commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and the ability to work closely with internal teams and external suppliers.
You’ll be involved in projects from early design stages through to delivery, helping to drive value for money and efficient sourcing strategies. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and wants to be part of a professional and forward-thinking construction business.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience as a Buyer or Procurement Officer within the construction industry.
  • Good knowledge of building materials and construction methods.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Organised, methodical, and commercially astute.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement/order management systems.

    Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Source and procure construction materials, plant, and subcontractor services in line with programme requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Obtain and evaluate quotations, negotiate favourable terms, and ensure best value procurement.
  • Collaborate with commercial, estimating, and site teams to forecast demand and supply timelines.
  • Monitor and report on material price trends and availability risks.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping, purchase order tracking, and compliance with company procedures.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of procurement processes and supply chain performance.
