To succeed in the Construction Collections Supervisor role, you’ll need to bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in collections/accounts receivable, including 2+ years in a supervisory role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Deep understanding of credit risk, collections procedures, and AR best practices
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAGE Intacct, Titanium, High Radius) and Excel proficiency
  • Construction industry knowledge is a must.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CONSTRUCTION COLLECTIONS SUPERVISOR

As the Construction Collections Supervisor, you’ll oversee all aspects of the collections process and drive timely receivables while maintaining positive customer relationships. This role is a key contributor to cash flow and financial performance.

  • Lead and manage the collections team, providing training, mentorship, and performance evaluations
  • Oversee the collections aging report and minimize bad debt risk
  • Develop and refine collection strategies and escalation protocols
  • Partner with internal departments to resolve billing disputes and improve invoice accuracy
  • Approve and monitor credit applications, limits, and risk levels
  • Report collections of metrics, forecasts, and performance to senior leadership
  • Ensure timely and accurate lien notices and filings on construction projects
  • Review pay applications for contractors/subcontractors to ensure compliance
  • Supervise the application of incoming payments and troubleshoot complex issues
  • Analyze collection KPIs and implement continuous improvement efforts
  • Maintain compliance with internal policies and relevant regulations
  • Support AR close activities for the month-end and year-end processes
