Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As Construction Controller, you will own the financial oversight of a globally distributed portfolio of high-integrity land development projects — including off-grid, modular, and coastal luxury builds. Reporting to the VP of Land Development and working closely with Finance and Project Managers, you’ll track project budgets, evaluate vendor contracts, manage cost reporting, and proactively surface financial risks and opportunities.
You’ll serve as the internal control hub for all active projects — building the systems, dashboards, and workflows that give PMs structure while providing leadership with real-time financial visibility. This is a role for a sharp, detail-driven professional who understands construction dynamics and thrives on budget discipline and operational clarity.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and manage detailed construction budgets across all development projects
  • Create and maintain cost tracking dashboards with real-time visibility into spend, variances, and vendor performance
  • Work closely with PMs to validate estimates, track change orders, and ensure scope alignment
  • Review vendor bids, contracts, and payment terms to ensure cost effectiveness and compliance
  • Partner with internal finance and leadership teams to forecast cash flow needs and financial exposure
  • Standardize financial documentation and reporting for project cost management at scale
  • Ensure alignment with project timelines, milestone payments, and vendor deliverables
  • Maintain audit-readiness and documentation integrity for all financial activity within the development org
