Position Overview The Controller will serve as the senior accounting leader for a growing construction firm, ensuring accurate financial reporting, disciplined job costing, and strong internal controls while partnering closely with project managers and executive leadership. This role requires a hands-on construction accounting professional who understands WIP reporting, AIA billing, and operational financial strategy in a fast-paced project-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Manage month-end close, general ledger integrity, and timely financial reporting. Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and detailed variance analysis. Perform job costing, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, and AIA billing oversight. Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures. Collaborate with project managers and senior leadership to support financial strategy and project profitability. Coordinate external audits, tax filings, bonding, and insurance requirements. Supervise accounting staff and ensure accurate payroll and benefits reporting. Qualifications Strong background in construction accounting required. Advanced proficiency with Sage 300 (Timberline) and related ERP tools. CPA preferred but not required. Thorough knowledge of GAAP and construction industry compliance standards. Excellent communication skills with proven cross-department collaboration ability.
