POSITION SUMMARY Reports to: Construction Manager The Civil Construction Coordinator’s key responsibilities are: * The Civil Construction Coordinator shall be responsible for all Construction Activities related to roads, grading, pavement, landscaping, drainage, traffic, and any utility work related to roadways. * Provides technical expertise, and support to specific areas of civil works. * Understands client drivers and offers value engineering proposals for schedule, functionality, and cost benefit. * Coordinate with Client on the status/progress of civil works, manage risks, and explain methodologies, stakeholder management. * Coordinate with design team to review design drawings, provide constructability input, and progress the design to meet deliverables on time, address compliance issues, address quality issues, address unforeseen site conditions. * Coordinate with subcontractors to build schedule, obtain estimates, define scope of works, develop construction plans, coordinating construction on site, inspecting works for quality and compliance, manage conflicts that arise. * Coordinate with stakeholders for agreements, permits, approvals, and to obtain additional information. * Ensuring cost reports, inventory, and quantity tracking meets specifications. * Understands, communicates, and enforces the contract documents, and RFI - requests for information when discrepancies occur. * Identifies and manages risks and opportunities on construction projects. * Monitoring cost and schedule and correct deviations to keep the project on time and within budget. EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS * University Degree, College Diploma, Post-grad Certificate, or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed relevant to Civil Engineering. * 4+ years' experience working in large-scale railway/ civil infrastructure projects. * P.Eng. is an asset. JOB REQUIREMENTS * Excellent problem-solving and prioritizing skills. * Experience with relevant codes, standards, and procedures. * Ability to clearly communicate, expressing requirements and expectations to a wide range of individuals. * Experience involves utility diversions till the final construction of civil works (pilling, slabs, Walls, MEP coordination). * Ability to coordinate construction activities related to roads, grading, pavement, landscaping, drainage, traffic, and any utility work related to roadways and railway projects.   WORK ENVIRONMENT  FCC Canada Ltd. is committed to cultivating a diverse and inclusive culture which promotes gender equity and the recruitment of all under-represented groups in all levels of its workforce.  This position is located in Vancouver, BC.
