Construction Cost Consultants (Quantity Surveyors) measure the value of a construction investment from concept to completion.
Job Overview: Updating word files based on the client backup information and Excel file data. Complete construction site visits from all stages of construction over the city of Ottawa. Some site visits may take you as far as Cornwall, Kingston and/or Montreal. Complete a photo report, write a brief construction progress report, and discuss the construction schedule with the Lead Cost Consultant. Merge PDF documents using Wondershare.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· A ready vehicle that you have access to at all times.
· Previous construction site experience will be considered an asset.
· A graduate from the Architect technology or Construction Engineering Technology program.
· Able to physically climb ladders, large flights of stairs, and long walk distances around the construction sites in hot summer and cold winter conditions.
· Detail orientated.
· Ability to work without supervision and keep up to date on deadlines.
Mileage will be paid as per the CRA guidelines

· Review excel files and understand the numbers and formulas to update Microsoft word report files for progress reports.
· Use Wondershare to merge multiple PDF documents, organize the pages according to the standard progress report format, and create links to pages.
· Work with Microsoft Outlook to respond to clients, collect and organize documents and respond to the clients for additional documents required to process draw requests.
· Sign in at the Construction trailer and speak with the construction manager regarding major construction milestones for the progress period.
· Take elevation photos of the project under construction and photos of all major cost items from the Cost Consultant reports. We will provide you with a template to demonstrate a typical photo report.
· Upload the photos to a Microsoft word document template and organize the photos to show construction progress.
· Write a brief description of the construction development for the progress report submitted by the Lead Cost Consultant.
· Discuss with the Lead Cost Consultant regarding the construction schedule. Talk about what you saw on site and if you believe the construction is on schedule or should be extended based on the trades.
· Keep track of your hours worked per project and kilometres driven per project and produce a monthly invoice for payment.
