Job Description AECOM is seeking Construction Cost Estimators specializing in mediation calculation & analysis to be based in New York, NY. Will operate as an Estimator working directly with the NYC SCA on projects related to schools throughout New York City and the surrounding boroughs. Responsibilities: Confer with a broad range of technical, professional, and managerial personnel as well as designers, consultants, and contractors to coordinate and establish a detailed cost estimate. Prepare and/or ensure the preparation of detailed cost estimates for all phases of design and/or construction. Supervise the development of quantity surveys and cost evaluations relating to design documents, contract drawings, specifications, or contract changes. Review and report on contract estimates prepared by private consultants; recommend if an estimate is appropriate for SCA’s implementation. Participate in cost negotiations. Plan, assign and review the cost-estimating work of other AECOM or Consultant estimators. Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labor expenses. Utilize computer-based cost estimating software and programs to assist in developing accurate cost projections. Collaborate with project managers to monitor ongoing projects and compare projected costs to actual costs, making adjustments as necessary. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. Preferred Requirements: Specialize in mediation calculation & analysis. Excellence in calculating prime time, labor escalation, and unstandardized coefficient. Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in architecture, construction management, engineering, environmental services, or related coursework. 8 years of experience as an estimator Additional Information Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
