We are seeking an experienced Construction Engineer to support the planning, coordination, and execution of structural, piping, and welding construction activities. Position Overview We are seeking a proactive and technically competent Construction Engineer to manage and coordinate fabrication and construction activities for Oil & Gas projects. The successful candidate will ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, project schedules, quality standards, and contractual requirements while coordinating with production, engineering, QA/QC, HSE, clients, and subcontractors. Key Responsibilities • Plan, coordinate, and supervise structural, piping, and welding construction activities to ensure safe and efficient project execution. • Review project schedules and prepare detailed construction and fabrication schedules in coordination with Planning and Production teams. • Review Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings, specifications, method statements, and procedures prior to commencement of work. • Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, QA/QC, HSE, and Stores to ensure timely availability of materials, equipment, manpower, and documentation. • Plan manpower and equipment requirements based on project schedules and coordinate resource allocation with Production Superintendents and Supervisors. • Ensure complete material traceability from raw material to finished products throughout fabrication and installation activities. • Monitor material reconciliation, surplus material management, and return of materials to Stores with proper documentation. • Ensure all tools, lifting equipment, and measuring instruments are calibrated and certified prior to use. • Ensure valid work permits, approved drawings, specifications, and procedures are available at work locations. • Coordinate with Project Management Teams, clients, third-party inspectors, and vendors to achieve project schedule, quality, and cost objectives. • Monitor construction productivity and ensure work is executed in accordance with project specifications, approved procedures, and company KPIs. • Minimize inspection rejections by ensuring compliance with quality requirements and effective supervision of construction activities. • Ensure waste materials are disposed of in accordance with company HSE procedures and regulatory requirements. • Support Supervisors in conducting toolbox talks and promoting a strong safety culture across the workforce. • Monitor workforce productivity, evaluate performance, and provide technical guidance to supervisors and construction personnel. • Participate in incident investigations and ensure implementation of corrective and preventive actions. • Identify opportunities to improve construction productivity through process improvements, automation, and the adoption of modern equipment. • Prepare fabrication estimates and provide technical inputs for new project quotations based on client drawings and specifications. • Attend daily site coordination meetings, construction progress meetings, and client review meetings. • Prepare construction sequences, lifting plans, risk assessments, and support constructability reviews. • Carry out additional responsibilities assigned by the Construction Manager or Project Manager to ensure successful project delivery. Qualifications & Experience Education: Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural, or related Engineering discipline. Experience: Minimum 5–10 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas, EPC, fabrication, construction, or marine projects. Technical Qualification: Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication, piping construction, welding processes, construction sequencing, lifting operations, and project execution. Experience with ADNOC projects is an advantage. Skills: Excellent construction planning, technical coordination, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Software: Proficient in MS Office. Experience with Primavera P6, AutoCAD, Navisworks, or ERP systems is an advantage. Knowledge: Sound understanding of fabrication methodologies, construction management, project scheduling, quality control, HSE requirements, material traceability, lifting operations, and international construction standards.
