REQUIREMENTS:

  • Educational Background:
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (A-C Grade) including maths
  • BTEC in Building Studies, Building Engineering, or Building Management
  • HNC/HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of five years’ experience managing elements of construction projects
  • Practical experience through internships or entry-level positions such as assistant estimator

SKILLS:

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Proficiency in relevant industry software packages e.g. Microsoft, Bluebeam and CostX
  • Excellent communication and team-working skills
    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
    Pay: £40,000.00-£60,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the financial preparation of bids/ tenders for the business
  • Work in partnership with the team throughout the pre-construction and bid/ tender process
  • Ensure bids/ tenders are risk assessed and reported to the directors
  • Manage mid bid/ tender and Final tender adjudications with directors
  • Prepare costings/ submissions in the agreed format consistent with the company branding
  • Present costings/ submissions to the directors for review
  • Manage handover of successful bids/ tenders to the delivery team
  • Liaison with commercial team on awarded projects through procurement phase.
  • Provide feedback and responses for the delivery team to assist with any post tender queries
  • Preparing the cost components of the proposal, including understanding of the task, planning, assessing past performance and personnel in partnership with the management team
  • Attend meetings with Client, Designers, Project Managers and relevant stakeholders as required
  • Attend Site Visits as required
  • Manage the supply chain to ensure competitive quotes are obtained
  • Ensure supply chain quotes are checked to ensure compliance with the tender documents
  • Manage tender clarifications throughout the bid/ tender process
  • Measuring & ‘Taking-Off’ quantities from drawings
  • Assess the levels of risk on a project and analyse company data
  • Monitor the stages of a project to ensure costs are kept in line with forecasts
  • Receiving and interpreting cost data on awarded projects for use in upcoming bids
  • Work closely with construction managers, planners, and design teams
