Description Summary Analyzes job requirements and project proposals to estimate the amount and types of materials required to complete tasks. Researches and evaluates suppliers to ensure the availability of materials and confirms that materials meet the organizations of prices and quality. Skills and Abilities Estimator requires 2 or more years of working experience in Construction Maintenance Management and must be well versed in most aspects of Maintenance and Construction. Maintain and promote a positive and productive work environment. Ability to meet deadlines and quotas as set forth by Management. Excellent time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills and the ability to disseminate information down to lower levels of management all the way down to the technician level. Self-starting capabilities, and the ability to work unsupervised. Must be able to prepare cost analysis by calculating costs, labor costs, and all other costs associated with a bid, RFP, or cost proposal. Strong analytical and math skills are required, in addition to the above knowledge of construction processes and procedures, and the ability to make accurate cost estimates. Knowledge of construction materials, material applications, and tools and the ability to conduct research regarding construction projects. Proficient with technology including computer skills, smartphones, and tablets. Physical Abilities: The ability to lift 50 pounds, work at heights and able to work in extreme weather conditions, able to continually climb, balance, stoop, and kneel sometimes for prolonged periods of time is required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Analyzes and prepares estimates for specific projects, making sure it meets the specifications and is cost-effective. Ability to read plans and perform takeoffs for estimating purposes. Create and submit estimates or bids to appropriate persons. Obtain job permits through different city agencies. Estimate jobs and meet RFP deadlines and criteria. Participate in achieving company priorities and goals. Must meet deadlines and quotas as set forth by Management. Attend training/meetings as directed by Management. Assist with Technicians’ needs. Maintain a high level of safety on jobs and follow the safety code of conduct.
