QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Diploma in Building and Construction or equivalent
  • Proven experience in a similar estimating / scheduling residential construction role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (excel), Simpro, Bluebeam, D365 (desirable but not essential).

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Scott Park Group is seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our estimating team. The role will focus on preparing accurate cost estimates and take-offs across a range of building works, with a strong emphasis on wall and ceiling linings. As SP Ceilings expands into new systems and construction methods, this position will play a key role in supporting projects from tender through to delivery.

MAIN DUTIES:

  • Review and interpret building plans, specifications to prepare accurate take-offs for a variety of building elements, with particular focus on wall and ceiling systems.
  • Estimate costs of materials, labour and subcontracted works across different construction methods, ensuring competitiveness and profitability.
  • Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to confirm pricing, technical details, and lead times.
  • Prepare and present estimates, budgets and tender submissions to support project decision-making.
  • Estimating costs of on-site changes, taking into account the stage of the build.
  • Monitor project budgets, track re-occurring over-runs and adjust base model estimates.
  • Maintain and update cost databases and contribute to the development of estimating systems and procedures.
  • Work closely with the SP Ceilings GM and project managers to ensure estimates align with construction requirements and company growth objectives.
