Sterling Excavation & Contracting Ltd. is looking for a talented and experienced Civil Construction Estimator to join our team. We’re a growing company dedicated to excellence in all aspects of civil construction, and we need a detail-oriented professional to help us accurately bid on new projects and secure future business.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience as a civil construction estimator, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of civil construction processes, materials, and equipment.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HeavyBid, B2W Estimate) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical documents.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for a wide range of civil construction projects, including site work, utilities, roadwork, and land development.
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and other bid documents to determine the scope of work and potential risks.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive bids and pricing for materials and services.
  • Conduct site visits as needed to better understand project conditions and constraints.
  • Manage the entire bidding process from initial inquiry to final submission, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Work closely with project managers and field staff to hand off successful bids and support project execution.
  • Maintain and update a database of costs for labor, materials, and equipment.
