Description ENGEO is looking for individuals eager to experience consulting on a construction site! Position Summary: As an ENGEO Field Intern, you will represent ENGEO on various job sites, delivering the highest quality client service. You will play a vital role in our projects by ensuring compliance with project and plan specifications, as well as engineering recommendations. Essentially, you will act as the eyes and ears on construction sites for our project engineers and project managers. Internship Goals: Provide meaningful real-world learning experience for talented students Experience a leading geotechnical engineering firm Make great contacts with a number of talented mentors Find out what makes ENGEO unique Responsibilities: Perform QA/QC field observations during site earthworks (grading) and site improvements (utilities, wall backfill, and street construction) following design plans and recommendations Confirm compliance with project and plan specifications, and engineering recommendations In-place density testing of engineered soil and rock materials during site development Accurate and detailed documentation required via smartphone or surface laptop (laptop provided) Submit Testing and Observation (T&O) Reports daily to Construction Services Managers for review Drop off samples for laboratory testing of soil and rock Requirements Candidate Requirements Valid Driver’s License Show proof of car insurance - upon hire Personal construction site appropriate vehicle (daily reimbursement available) Good driving record and drug-free Be able to lift up to 75 pounds and perform intermittent strenuous activity Willing to work OT and weekends as needed per project/contractor demands Comfortable working alone on job sites, with a practical and resourceful mindset Strong basic algebraic math skills Education: High School Diploma required Current A.A or B.S. student in Earth Sciences, Geology, Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred Who We Are ENGEO strives to create a positive, family-oriented, and innovative environment, where employees are engaged and excellence-driven.
