As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Foreperson to join our team in Edmonton, AB. As a Foreperson, you’ll take the lead on the ground, coordinating day-to-day site activities to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with the Site Superintendent, you’ll guide crews and subcontractors through the fast-paced, detailed work of interior renovations; often in occupied retail and commercial spaces where professionalism and communication are key. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who takes pride in their workmanship, leads by example, and thrives in environments where planning, problem-solving, and teamwork make all the difference.  Your Key Responsibilities * Support the Site Superintendent with the planning, implementation, and management of project priorities according to the schedule  * Complete a site walk around at the beginning and end of each shift  * Supervise tasks being completed by site crews and subcontractors   * Delegate responsibilities and tasks to site crews, subcontractors, and other workers according to priorities and plans * Assist with conducting weekly Toolbox Talks, weekly Worksite Inspections, Site Specific Safety Orientations and Safety Reporting * Complete daily logs, as required  * Working with or making things with wood in the construction, installation or repair of structures or components of structures * Preparing site and building layouts * Constructing foundations and concrete structures * Framing structures * Applying interior and exterior finishes. * Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards * Load and unload construction materials and move materials to work areas * Assembling, erecting, installing and dismantling structures * Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades required at construction sites * Assist tradespersons such as Forepersons and trade partners in construction activities * Dig trenches, backfill excavations, compact and level earth to grade specifications, using appropriate tool * Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, and other equipment * Perform other activities at construction sites as directed   Your Qualifications and Experience * Minimum of 5 years experience  in Commercial Construction, experience in Tenant Improvements and Operational Renovations, Journeyperson Certificate is considered an asset  * Experience as a Foreperson with a General Contractor, working on projects between $1-10 million  * Own transportation, able to get to and from site * Ability to multi task with strong attention to detail * Productive in a team environment * Understands and adheres to all safety policies and procedures Working Conditions This position requires the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a construction work environment.  The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.  Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  Essential physical requirements include: * Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to accurately measure, cut, fit and finish materials * Physical capability to lift, carry, push, pull, and position materials, and to perform tasks while standing, kneeling, bending, crouching, or working overhead for extended periods * Able to work at varying heights, including the use of ladders, scaffolding, and elevated work platforms * Capacity to work in confined or awkward positions, in a range of environmental conditions, including outdoor and variable weather conditions * Able to safely and efficiently operate hand tools and power tools, for prolonged periods * Able to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend and crouch frequently What We Offer While working at Benchmark Builders, you will receive competitive wages, a comprehensive benefits package (we pay the premium, so you don't have to!), GRSP matching, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), learning and development opportunities, company events, and more! Responsibilities
