Description

As a Construction General Helper, you will assist in various tasks on construction sites to ensure that projects are completed efficiently and safely. Your role will involve supporting skilled tradespeople, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and performing basic construction tasks as directed by supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in construction or a similar field is a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to perform physical labor and work in varying weather conditions.
  • Familiarity with basic hand and power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Understanding of and commitment to safety practices on construction sites.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 pounds) and perform strenuous tasks.
  • Capacity to work in various environments, including confined spaces and elevated areas.
Responsibilities
  • Assistance with Construction Tasks:
  • Support carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and other tradespeople by providing tools, materials, and assistance as needed.
  • Help with the setup and teardown of construction equipment and temporary structures.
  • Assist in mixing, pouring, and spreading concrete or mortar.
  • Carry and distribute materials and tools to various parts of the construction site.
  • Site Maintenance:
  • Keep the construction site clean and organized, including removing debris and waste.
  • Ensure that tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
  • Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries on site.
  • Safety Compliance:
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Report any safety hazards or concerns to supervisors immediately.
  • Basic Construction Duties:
  • Perform simple tasks such as digging, trenching, and backfilling.
  • Assist in measuring, cutting, and assembling materials according to project specifications.
  • Carry out minor repairs or adjustments as directed by skilled workers.
  • Communication and Coordination:
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • Follow instructions and work collaboratively with others to achieve project goals.
