Auspice Safety Inc. is seeking a Health & Safety Consultant / Trainer
Training
· Prepare for, organize and conduct hands-on, technical health and safety training educational sessions.
· Lead safety training modules, hands on demonstrations, verification and testing of safe and proper use of equipment and monitoring the effectiveness of the training.
· Conduct Safety Training to clients either at our facility or client site. Travel to courses with personal vehicle within the Eastern Ontario area.
· Work collaboratively with other Health and Safety trainers and with other team members in the development and execution of training.
o Primary Courses qualified to teach:
§ Working at Heights (WAH)
§ Confined Space Entry
§ Power Elevated Platform (PEWP)
§ Forklift
o Secondary Courses qualified to teach:
§ Propane in Construction
§ Chainsaw
§ Scaffolding Certification
§ Traffic Control with Book 7
§ Hoisting and Rigging
Consulting
· Assist clients by interpreting regulations regarding occupational health and safety standards and implementing policies to ensure compliance.
· Conduct research on safety topics and develop educational materials based on findings.
· Assist with investigations into employee accidents or near misses to determine causes and prevent future incidents from occurring.
· Conduct site visits to ensure regulatory compliance.
· Support customer health and safety requirements, including but not limited to JHSC meetings, toolbox talks, workplace inspections, document creation and review.
· Conduct a safety audit, gap analysis and action plan.
· Provide additional health and support as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

· 3-5 years Health and Safety experience (experience in the construction industry an asset).
· Occupational Health and Safety Degree, Diploma, or Certificate an asset.
· NSCO Certification an asset.
· Facilitated training classes (asset) or Train the Trainer Certificate.
· Strong knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (“Green Book”) and relevant regulations e.g., Construction Projects.
· Effective communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Valid driver’s G license and possess own vehicle.

PREFERRED SKILLS

· Candidate will provide training sessions in French and English, as well as provide documents/policies in the preferred language.
· Self-motivator with a strong ability to work independently, in addition to being a team player.
· Proven experience showing positive results including time management and prioritization skills.
