Description
Maintain quality assurance requirements and approach and monitor code compliance issues. Inspect and determine deviations from general compliance with Contract Documents; clearly and professionally inform the contractor of required corrections. Review submittals and other construction documents and recommend technical solutions. Attend and participate in construction meetings, safety meetings/updates and project site coordination meetings. Monitor and document contractor resource utilization (labor, materials, and equipment) for field changes, and time and material work and assist with negotiation of basic field construction changes. Verify equipment and materials installation for payment purposes. Maintain Payment Quantity documentation. Perform mathematical calculations as necessary during inspection activities. Local travel will include project site visits, client meetings, safety audits, construction oversight, etc. Key skills for this role include; identifying, analyzing, and providing innovative solutions to problems, along with a high level of math aptitude, ability to multi-task several priorities and possess solid time management skills, and proficiency in MS Office Suite (particularly MS Excel, MS Word, MS SharePoint, and Outlook). This position requires the employee to work year-round in various weather conditions. Preferred qualifications for this role include; 10 or more years of civil/utility construction inspection experience, experience with structural /mechanical/electrical/pipeline/utility construction inspection activities on small to larger sized infrastructure construction projects, NASSCO ITCP / PACP certifications, ACI or NICET certifications, OSHA 10 Safety and Confined Space Entry Training, and Active participation in a regional or national professional association.
