Overview We are looking for a highly motivated individual with architectural and/or construction experience to join our team as a Construction Inspector. The position is hybrid and based in dCEI’s Marlton office with travel in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction codes and standards, the ability to identify and correct construction defects, and the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences. The construction inspector will be responsible for inspecting construction projects to ensure that they are built according to plans and specifications. Responsibilities Inspect construction projects to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. Monitor the quality of construction work. Approve or reject construction materials and workmanship. Investigate and resolve construction problems. Prepare reports and documentation. Communicate with clients, contractors, other inspectors and supervisors regarding specifications and qualifications. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications 2+ years’ experience in construction, engineering and/or architecture in New Jersey and Pennslyvania. Valid driver’s license. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Independent and critical thinking abilities. The ability to work logically and systematically, with good time management. Basic IT literacy and the ability to manage and communicate electronic data. Problem-solving and decision-making skills, plus the ability to speak laterally. Self-starter who can work independently and with team members.
