Description About the Position: Join us in the exciting role of providing a Construction Inspector to provide technical services for the VA Healthcare System, Bay Pines, FL. The inspector will provide comprehensive construction inspection support services to the VA Bay Pines FM office for an upgrade to the telecommunication infrastructure of the entire Bay Pines, FL, campus. Job Type: Full-time Temporary 6-month assignment (See project duration below) *This position includes PTO, 401(k) eligibility on day one, Health, Dental, Vision insurance, and paid holidays. *This position requires a construction background and computer proficiency. Construction QA experience is required. Project Duration: This position is a full-time, temporary role for 4 months, 40 hours per week, commencing in Feb 2026. Work hours are currently expected to be: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 1800-0200 (6 PM to 2 AM) Tuesday and Thursday 1700-0100. (5 PM to 1 AM) These hours could be adjusted to match the MWF hours. Key Responsibilities: Performs field inspections to evaluate the work performed and materials used. Verifies quality of workmanship, quality of materials used, and compliance with plans, specifications, estimates, and applicable codes and regulations. Notes deficiencies and deviations from plans; refers serious problems and disagreements in interpretation to the Chief, Projects. Maintains, updates, and assures the accuracy of inspection records, project documentation, and project files. Prepare and submit detailed digital inspection reports, including photo documentation and proper formatting protocols Monitor the contractor's quality control and safety programs Participate in quality control meetings and safety oversight Work Environment: Work will primarily be performed indoors. Work will be performed after hours as noted above. Requirements Education: Associate’s degree or graduate of an accredited Trade School or a formal construction apprenticeship program. Educational requirements may be substituted by 10 years of directly related experience. Professional Experience: Seven (7) years of experience in construction inspection and contractor oversight activities associated with facilities (i.e., buildings, structures, equipment, systems, etc.) construction and implementation. Familiarity with handling RFI, change orders, submittal logs, etc. Field knowledge of safety, scheduling, and cost control is essential. Professional experience should also include the ability to read and interpret construction documents.
