Job Summary: Under general supervision, the Construction Inspector will support the Engineering Department at Nashville International Airport and John C. Tune Airport as part of the Safety and Quality Assurance team. This role reports to the Quality Manager and ensures compliance with project plans, technical specifications, codes, and applicable regulations, while overseeing construction activities with emphasis on safety, quality, and documentation.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
- Construction Practices: Knowledge of construction practices, specifications and plans, and site development.
- OSHA Regulations: Knowledge of state and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
- FAA Regulations: Knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) advisory circulars.
- Proficient in using digital technology platforms and applications to streamline documentation, communication, and field activities.
- Proficiency in interpreting and applying site survey data to support construction planning, layout, and compliance with project specifications.
- Effective conflict resolution strategies to facilitate collaboration, de-escalate tensions, and ensure alignment among stakeholders throughout the construction process.
- Demonstrate strong self-reliance, motivation, and organizational skills in managing tasks independently, while maintaining consistent communication and documentation throughout all phases.

- Contract Regulations: Skill in understanding and enforcing contractual agreements, rules, and regulations

- Computer Skills: Skill in utilizing technology, software, and applications; Microsoft Office Co-Pilot, Procore, Bluebeam, Adobe PDF, Geographic Information Sysytems (GIS).

- Blueprint Reading: Ability to read, comprehend, and apply plan sets and specifications.
