This internship is ideal for someone who wants real construction experience from both an owner and contractor perspective, enjoys being on the move, and wants to develop a strong understanding of how high-quality work gets delivered across multiple active projects. The internship is available beginning in May or June 2026 and concluding in August or September 2026. Role Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Management Intern to support Metacomet Construction LLC, an affiliate of Freestone Property Group, across active construction projects throughout New York City. The intern will work closely with our Senior Project Managers to help drive projects forward through site coordination, quality control support, and project documentation, while gaining hands-on exposure to real-world construction operations. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, highly organized, and interested in construction and real estate, with a strong work ethic and a proactive mindset. Responsibilities Visit active job sites across NYC and support field oversight and project execution Perform quality control observations and report field conditions to Senior Project Managers Assist with punch walks / blue tape walkthroughs and track open items through completion Take detailed job-site photos and maintain organized documentation Help confirm scope completion by trade (finishes, carpentry, painting, flooring, etc.) Flag potential issues early (workmanship, access, sequencing, missing materials, etc.) Support coordination with building staff, subcontractors, and site teams when needed Help maintain daily progress notes and updates across multiple sites Learn and follow jobsite safety standards and professional jobsite etiquette Who This Is For We’re open to students from a range of backgrounds, including: Construction Management Architecture Civil / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering Real Estate (especially students interested in development, construction, or asset management) Qualifications Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn quickly Comfortable traveling throughout NYC job sites daily Organized, accountable, and able to communicate clearly Interest in construction, building systems, or real estate development Familiarity with drawings and jobsite terminology is a plus (not required) What You’ll Gain Hands-on experience on real active construction projects in NYC Exposure to project management systems, field reporting, and quality control Insight into the relationship between construction + property management operations Mentorship from experienced Senior Project Managers A strong foundation for a career in construction management, development, or real estate Compensation: $25 an hour and the opportunity for overtime Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
