The Department of Environmental Services [https://www.arlingtonva.us/Government/Departments/DES] (DES), Development Services Bureau, is seeking a Construction Management Specialist to join its team of professionals to perform construction management work for their Transportation and Development Division which includes: the inspection and enforcement of construction activities in the County public right-of-way or public easements; and the inspection of public infrastructure within the public right-of-way. The Development Services Bureau regulates and oversees various public and private sector development activities which include: review of site civil design plans, land disturbing activity permits, subdivision plats, easement plats, and public improvement bonds; inspection of public infrastructure built by developers; inspection and enforcement of erosion and sediment controls and regulating storm water management activities on construction sites; and processing special exception development projects for approval by the County Board.
Responsibilities
Perform construction management work including the inspection and enforcement of activities within the County public right-of-way. Oversee public infrastructure projects and regulate erosion, sediment controls, and storm water management activities.
