Description
We are seeking a bilingual Construction Manager skilled in Primavera P6, digital tools, desalination systems, and subcontractor management. * Bachelor's Degree Mechanical and Electrical or equivalent. * Minimum 6 years in heavy engineering construction, with at least 5 years specifically focused on water treatment plants (Desalination/Reverse Osmosis) or marine/offshore floating structures. * Proven experience delivering complex projects from fabrication to Testing & Commissioning (T&C). Experience with fast-track or crash schedules is highly advantageous. * Prior experience managing construction yards or project sites in China is strongly preferred. * Experience serving as a Construction Manager or Lead Site Representative, successfully managing multi-disciplinary sub-contractors (Mechanical, Electrical, Piping, Structural). * Project Management & Scheduling: Understand Primavera P6 to track critical paths, progress S-curves, and man-hour resource histograms.  * Digital Construction Tools: Experience utilizing modern project management platforms, document control systems, and custom digital construction dashboards or tracking apps. * Engineering Document Literacy: Ability to confidently review and interpret 3D CAD models (Navisworks), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and General Arrangement (GA) drawings. * General Productivity: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office/Excel for construction reporting, progress claims, and metric tracking. * Deep understanding of seawater desalination processes, high-pressure piping systems, modular fabrication, and marine-grade material selection (e.g., duplex stainless steel, anti-corrosion coatings). * Contract & Subcontractor Management: Strong capability in managing strict subcontractor deliverables, enforcing variation order protocols, and managing tight site timelines (e.g., advance notice compliance). * Quality & Safety Compliance: Knowledge of international standard water treatment engineering practices. - Language Proficiency: Professional fluency in English and Mandarin (written and spoken) is critical to bridge communication between the Malaysian corporate office and the fabrication yard/site teams in China. * Crisis & Schedule Management: Strong problem-solving skills to handle supply chain bottlenecks, equipment arrival delays, and site integration challenges.
Responsibilities
Manage the construction of complex water treatment and marine projects from fabrication through to testing and commissioning. Coordinate multi-disciplinary subcontractors and bridge communication between the Malaysian corporate office and sites in China.
