Description
We are seeking Dowds are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the safe and successful delivery of complex construction projects. This role will have responsibility for site execution, programme delivery, subcontractor management, and coordination of multidisciplinary teams on high‑value projects. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience managing mechanical-led or MEP-heavy projects, with proven capability operating in fast-paced, technically demanding environments. What you’ll be responsible for Full responsibility for on-site construction delivery, ensuring projects are completed safely, on programme, and to specification Lead and coordinate subcontractors, site managers, supervisors, and direct operatives Manage construction sequencing, logistics, and site setup from commencement through handover Drive productivity, monitor progress, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency Oversee quality assurance processes and ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards Maintain high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance (HSE) Attend and lead coordination meetings with clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal stakeholders Liaise closely with design teams to manage buildability, technical queries, and design development Support commissioning, testing, and handover activities What we are looking for Essential Proven experience as a Construction Manager or Lead MEP/Mechanical Construction Manager Strong background delivering technically complex projects (£10m–£30m+) Experience managing large site teams and high-volume logistics SMSTS certification (Gold Card preferred) NVQ Level 6/7 or equivalent in Construction or Senior Construction Management Strong understanding of mechanical systems; MEP coordination experience essential Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills Desirable Mission‑critical project experience Healthcare or medical gas installation project exposure Experience managing fast-track or phased handovers Why Join Dowds 41 Days Holiday Early Finish Fridays Private Medical Bonus Wellbeing Initiatives Pension Work from home Plus, many more Dowds is an Equal Opportunities Employer
