Description

Energy Network Services Inc. (ENS) is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Manager to oversee and direct aspects of construction Lighting and EV Charging infrastructure projects from conception through to completion. The successful candidate will have a robust understanding of construction principles and a proven track record of managing complex projects in various construction environments.
The role requires strong project management skills, extensive knowledge of construction and technical drawings, and the ability to coordinate with multiple teams to ensure all work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field. Equivalent hands-on experience in construction management will also be considered.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in construction management, with specific experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
  • Large-Scale Project Experience: Proven experience overseeing electrical lighting and EVC installations for large-scale or commercial projects, with demonstrated success in delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Technical Proficiency: Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and code requirements for electrical installations. Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Project, and other relevant construction management software.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead construction teams and manage subcontractors effectively, maintaining high levels of productivity and morale.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate project needs and progress to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Strong organizational skills to coordinate complex project schedules and resources efficiently.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities: Proactive approach to identifying issues, troubleshooting, and implementing solutions. Skilled at navigating and resolving construction challenges.
Responsibilities
  • Project Oversight: Lead and manage all stages of the electrical construction process, including project planning, budgeting, and scheduling, while ensuring compliance with project scope, design specifications, and quality standards.
  • Blueprint and Technical Drawing Interpretation: Conduct thorough reviews of blueprints and detailed drawings to direct field teams accurately. Use these documents to identify key project milestones, potential challenges, and technical requirements.
  • Team Coordination and Supervision: Oversee and direct a team of contractors, including electricians and technicians, ensuring each team member is fully briefed on project expectations, quality standards, and safety protocols. Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment.
  • Quality Assurance and Control: Perform regular on-site inspections and quality checks to ensure work adheres to both project specifications and industry standards. Implement corrective actions when necessary to maintain the highest quality of workmanship.
  • Safety Management: Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety standards, local building codes, and company policies. Enforce a strict safety-first culture on job sites.
  • Budget and Cost Management: Track budgets, control costs, and forecast expenditures, ensuring projects remain financially viable. Proactively manage resources, equipment, and materials to maintain efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution: Identify potential issues in design, scheduling, or resource allocation early on. Lead the problem-solving process to resolve conflicts quickly and effectively, minimizing disruptions to the project timeline.
  • Communication: The primary point of contact for clients, engineers, and architects regarding electrical components of the project. Provide regular progress updates, address client concerns, and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including daily logs, incident reports, and material usage records. Prepare detailed progress reports.
  • Technical Guidance: Provide technical input and expertise on electrical systems, supporting the design and execution of project plans.
