Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Construction Manager, GHG (Greenhouse Gas) and Priority Projects - Airport Project to join our team. This position is based on-site, out of Mississauga. We are seeking professionals to join our team to help us build one of the most advanced, sustainable and passenger-friendly airports in the world.

MAJOR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Leads the owner’s oversight of construction coordination and inspection activities, with a particular focus on greenhouse gas reduction and net-zero initiatives.
  • Collaborates closely with the contractor’s construction management team to ensure the effective and timely delivery of project works.
  • Directs the owner’s construction management team, including the Deputy Construction Manager and Construction Inspectors, within the assigned sub-program.
  • Provides expert guidance on construction management and overall project delivery, particularly for sustainability-focused infrastructure.
  • Supports design management to validate constructability and alignment with procurement and net-zero construction objectives.
  • Participates in constructability assessments, scope definition, and value engineering exercises during the design phase.
  • Monitors and evaluates contractor performance to ensure compliance with technical specifications and sustainability goals.
  • Tracks and reports on construction progress and schedule adherence, highlighting key risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Contributes to the commercial process, including review and validation of contractor payment applications and invoicing.
  • Manages post-construction activities, facilitating smooth handover to operations and overseeing warranty period reviews.
  • Leads claims analysis and resolution recommendations to support efficient project delivery.
  • Coordinates with safety, quality assurance, and inspection teams to maintain compliance and performance standards.
    Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess, at a very minimum:

  • University Degree + 8 years of relevant experience in construction management with a focus on large greenhouse gas / net zero related infrastructure projects.

Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Professional designation in a relevant field considered an asset.
  • Typically possesses a minimum of 15 years of professional experience in construction management, with a strong focus on delivering greenhouse gas reduction and net-zero projects valued over CAD $500 million.
  • At least 10 years of experience on major international airport projects or equivalent large-scale infrastructure programs.
  • A minimum of 10 years of on-site experience in highly regulated, complex, and operationally active environments.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in the successful delivery of complex projects and programs.
  • Comprehensive technical expertise across all project phases—design, planning, construction, operations, and maintenance—with a preference for large-scale or program-level experience.
  • Experienced in collaborative project delivery environments, with working knowledge of progressive contracting models such as Progressive Design-Build and Target Price.
  • Strong track record in stakeholder management, with the ability to produce clear, actionable reporting to support informed decision-making.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the facilitation of meetings and workshops with diverse stakeholder groups.
    Additional Information
    This position requires work on-site/out of the office 5 days a week.
