We are seeking for an experienced Structural Site Supervisor to join our dynamic construction teams in Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast. This role involves overseeing all structural elements of construction sites, ensuring that work is executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate structural works on-site, including concrete, steel, formwork, and other structural components.
  • Ensure all works comply with design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Manage subcontractors and site personnel to maintain productivity and schedule adherence.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and provide detailed reports on progress, risks, and issues.
  • Collaborate closely with site project manager, site supervisors, site engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor and enforce strict workplace health and safety protocols.
  • Resolve on-site issues promptly to avoid delays and maintain project quality.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Structural Site Supervisor in large-scale residential construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles and construction methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Current construction safety certifications (e.g., White Card, Site Safety Supervisor).
  • Relevant qualifications in construction management, engineering, or related fields preferred.
  • Commitment to high standards of safety and quality.

Basic Job Functions:

Directly responsible for a variety of field service functions including, but not limited to, commissioning, testing, inspecting, trouble-shooting, repairing, and modifying solar photovoltaic systems. Additionally, this position is responsible for the supervision of contractors to ensure safe , high quality and timely performance of maintenance activities in the field. This position will act as the primary responder to customer service calls or automated service calls generated by remote alarm notification systems, and will be on-call 24/7. Position requires familiarity with both AC and DC systems, including inverters, switchgear, transformers, batteries, power meters, computer monitoring systems, associated sensors, PV modules, and PV arrays. Directly responsible for a variety of field start-up and commissioning functions on all components of the PV system including but not limited to execution of pre-commissioning protocols, commissioning protocols, acceptance tests, and customer training. The Power Plant Field Supervisor must keep current with product technology as measured by ability to troubleshoot and repair various products and to instruct others.

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a related position, or
  • Recent electrical engineering graduate.
  • 2 years supervisory experience


Education:

  • Technical School Diploma
  • College degree preferred
  • NABCEP certification a plus


Required Skills/Competencies:

Behavioral:

  • Ability to supervise contractors in the field and ensure safety, quality and schedule adherence.
  • Ability to take direction, identify problems, develop solutions, conduct analysis independently and in collaboration with others
  • Ability to work comfortably in potentially remote field conditions and manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Ability to work in difficult customer situations
  • Available for 24-hour on-call duty to meet customer requirements

Technical:

  • Strong electrical background
  • Proven computer skills in a Windows environment (Excel; Word)
  • Ability to use Maximo
  • Computer skills involving electronic control systems preferred
  • Familiarity with testing and diagnostic equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, etc.)


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a safe work environment by promoting strict adherence to company protocols
  • Oversee all personnel in the field and ensure safety, quality and schedule adherence.
  • Perform and document training on and ensure compliance to Job Hazard Analysis, Pre-Job Brief and Lock-Out-Tag-Out procedures.
  • Train all personnel in safety, environmental and procedural requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with remote operators
  • Coordinate on-site project planning, installations, commissioning, quality inspections, and performance testing.
  • Write and enforce work and equipment testing instructions and procedures, including normal and maintenance operating procedures.
  • Ensure work orders are complete per requirements
  • Prepare documents necessary for procurement and utilization of materials and vendor services.
  • Ensure all documentation and required reports are reviewed, complete, submitted and filed.
  • Communicate cross-functionally across all necessary parts of the organization to achieve resolution to plant issues.
  • Attend, participate in and pass all assigned training in safety, environmental and other areas as assigned
  • Maintain work area and site housecleaning to 5S standards
  • Other duties as assigned


Travel:

  • Travel will be required depending on the needs of the region.

The Opportunity:

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Construction Managers to join our Construction team,you would play a key leadership role on major projects in various locations across Australia

These positons would suit Construction Managers who have a proven track record of success in delivering large and complex construction projects , preferably with EPC style projects .

As the leader of a multi-disciplinary construction team, the ideal candidates will be able to commit to a 2x1 or 3x1 FIFO (fly-in, fly-out) roster from most major cities around Australia depending on project locations and will be responsible for:


In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Enforcing strict adherence to safety protocols, ensuring proper training and support for all personnel, and meeting HSE standards.
  • Cultivating a positive and productive work culture for a diverse team of supervisors and engineers.
  • Maintaining strong client relationships and effective communication with client representatives.
  • Driving project success by managing budget, schedule, and overall project delivery.
  • Overseeing all construction operations on-site, from project commencement to commissioning and handover.
  • Reviewing site plans to ensure alignment with project objectives throughout the construction phase.
  • Identifying and mitigating project risks to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Ensuring compliance with GRES/Client policies, industry standards, and safe work procedures.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in Construction/Project Management roles.
  • Professional engineering or trades background.
  • Experience in managing onsite Construction contractors on large Tier 1 contracts.
  • Previous experience in design or construction management within mineral resource or materials handling industries.
  • Knowledge of current safety legislation and standards in the construction and mining sectors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong leadership abilities.
  • Valid National Police clearance ( no older than 6 months old)
  • The ability to pass a full medical and DAS -essential
  • S26 (WA ) and or G189 (QLD) , current first aid and white card - essential
