About the Project: Provide Construction Management Services to assist the on-site Resident Engineer for the Sepulveda Building 47 & 103 Replacement Seismic Project 691-903, located at the Sepulveda VA Medical Center,16111 Plummer Street, Sepulveda, CA 91343-2036. The Research Building Replacement Project encompasses the design and construction of a new research facility (Bldg. 7 Annex) replacing Bldg. 47 & 103. The project relocates Animal Research, associated administrative and support services, constructs new surface parking, and connects to the existing Building 7. The project includes demolishing the existing seismically deficient buildings 47 (2,800 Gross Square Feet), built in 1954, and 103 (4,104 Gross Square Feet), built in 1986. The work will be completed in a phased approach, with the new building constructed and activated prior to demolition of the buildings.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Each CM-Mechanical Engineer shall possess a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field from an accredited institution of higher learning.
Provide a certificate demonstrating completion of the OSHA 30-Hour Safety Training Class.
Have a minimum of 5 years of experience supporting major construction as a construction manager/inspector, program controls, and/or construction administration capacity.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience as a CMa managing VA projects
Experience as a CMa managing Medical project
The government requires a CM - Mechanical Engineer (CM-ME) that will be on-site for the duration of the Project. This individual will be part of a CM team that will assist the VA CO/COR in reviewing design submissions and monitoring the Construction Contractor’s (Contractor) work for compliance with the project contract requirements. This includes assisting the Contracting Officer and the Contracting Officer’s Representative in the areas of project management, project engineering, planning, scheduling, design reviews, code compliance, testing, record keeping, quality control, quality assurance, cost control, and general oversight of the construction projects.
