Description Construction Manager (CM) with PMP or CMAA certification The ideal candidate will have experience in the Commercial construction industry, be a self-starter, have strong communication skills, and be able to manage multiple projects at one time. Location: Kings Point, NY at the Fulton-Gibbs complex at the U.S. Merchant Marines Academy. Experience with the following disciplines/trades in building repair: architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, energy efficiency, roofing, lighting, historic preservation, fire protection and life safety, hazardous material abatement. This project will refurbish the existing structure of the Fulton-Gibbs complex to meet anticipated minimum operating capability for the next seven to ten years. This includes but is not limited to: Roof replacement Ensuring asbestos in the flooring has been abated; Installing new flooring; Lighting upgrades; Emergency Shower updates Fume hood upgrades; Facility painting; Window repairs; Installing exhaust systems in the welding and diesel labs (a mechanical study and design will be performed to direct this effort). A. The CM will host weekly project progress meetings, and/or presentations, with the MARAD and primary tenant group heads as required to keep all parties apprised of the progress/status and impending activities. B. Cm shall prepare and distribute an agenda for each Contractor hosted project meeting, in advance of the meeting date. C. CM shall provide meeting minutes of all Contractor hosted project meetings and presentations to all attendees identifying new and unresolved old action items and associated responsible parties. Minutes must be provided within three calendar days after each meeting. Historic Preservation The USMMA is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Therefore, all work shall be consistent with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties (36 CFR part 68) Plans for any alterations that will result in adverse effects on historic property will require consultation with the State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO), Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Requirements (6) six-years of construction management (CM) experience on construction projects valued at $10 million or greater. Strong oral and communication skills (speak, read, and write fluent English) and experience interacting with senior leaders within an organization. Must have strong skills in the following key areas including strategic thinking, multi-tasking, conflict management, time management, planning and executing to the defined plan etc. Must have prior hands-on experience creating monthly dashboards and reports. Must be proficient on Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Prior Federal government experience is a plus. Have historic preservation experience. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
