The Opportunity Are you an experienced Construction Project Manager looking to break into the data center sector? If you’ve successfully managed complex commercial, industrial, or healthcare builds and want to level up into a high-demand industry, this role is your gateway.
We’ll provide training, mentorship, and support to help you transition your skills into this fast-paced, technical space. You bring the project rigor, leadership, and drive—we’ll help you translate it into success on a hyperscale data center site.
As a Construction Project Manager at Overwatch, you’ll play a critical role in the successful delivery of mission-critical infrastructure. You’ll lead site execution, manage contractors and vendors, and drive milestones across schedule, safety, budget, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities Business Processes
Create and maintain best practices to identify and incorporate cost-effective solutions.
Manage GC(s) and vendor performance along with their integration with internal partners to ensure on-time and on-budget project delivery.
Drive deployment of scalable solutions across DCD projects.
Facilitate decision-making to drive schedules and manage change as needed.
Apply negotiation skills to identify options and recommend solutions. Communication
Communicate key project needs to engineering and sourcing teams.
Regularly review cost and KPI metrics, invoices, and communicate updates to client partners.
Serve as the single point of contact for project development and delivery.
Coordinate meetings with vendors and cost managers to share lessons learned.
Attend and report on OAC (Owner/Architect/Contractor) and project meetings.
Provide weekly updates on project scope, schedule, and budget following DCD standards. Accountability
Establish and promote a safe and effective job site culture.
Develop, manage, and report on project safety, scope, schedule, and budget.
Maintain fiscal responsibility for the approved project budget.
Work independently to support the goals of the DCD project. Vendor Management and Contract Compliance
Oversee daily construction site activities and vendor performance.
Prepare RFPs, PERs, and other project approval templates.
Review and approve scopes of work, design plans, and vendor invoices.
Ensure compliance with audit results and recommendations.
REQUIREMENTS:
5+ years of project management experience in commercial, healthcare, industrial, mission-critical construction, or related.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred
Strong leadership, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination skills
Comfort managing multiple trades and high-volume subcontractor teams
Working knowledge of construction software platforms (Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, etc.)
Curiosity and willingness to learn the data center environment—we’ll teach the tech
