MINIMUM POSITION KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Technician with at least five (5) years’ experience, in their discipline in a project/construction management lead role.
  • At least two (2) years of public/governmental organization experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent training & experience.
  • Ability to read and write English is required.
  • Solid communications skills, strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ability to work as a member of a diverse, dynamic team.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
  • Requires sponsored by a MP-ICAM Trusted Agent with a favorable background check with current cybersecurity training.
  • Non-U.S. personnel will not be granted a U.S. Common Access Cards (CACs) and must follow procedures for badging and access to Government facilities or installations. Instead, non-US personnel are issued Network Enterprise Alternate Token (NEAT), which is a smart-card for accessing the unclassified AFNet or DoD network.
  • Candidate should be other country national (OCN) or local national (LN).
  • Possess a valid driver’s license. passport from their country have ability to obtain any visa required.

Responsibilities

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Perform construction and project management for procured contracts as well as those procured by mission partners and other Government agencies. This position is in support of the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) and is located at Ascension Island Auxiliary Airfield (AAAF).

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review project designs while addressing maintainability, constructability, safety, communications, and impacts on station facilities and infrastructure. Provide Design Comments within specified deadline set forth by Government Designing agencies in advance of Design Reviews.
  • Review annually the AAAF portion of the Government Facility Excellence Plan (FEP), including application of facility excellence standards in planning and design of facility projects IAW AF directives and the AFSPC Facilities Excellence Guide.
  • Perform construction management for all SLD 45 procured contracts as well as those procured by mission partners and other Government agencies.
  • Provide downrange project manager expertise to inspect construction projects and ensure compliance with all project drawings and specifications, and that any discovered deviations are reported.
  • Record warranty information for newly installed equipment and facilities systems and manage warranty requirements through Operations Engineering.
  • Provide security escort service as required in building, restricted, controlled, or Government requested areas.
  • Provide site preparation and coordination for projects and work orders (AF Form 332). Also, will obtain work clearance with Operations Engineering for all work including road closures, trenching, utility outages, and access to mission sites.
  • Ensure that construction documentation including new parts lists, operating and maintenance manuals for new equipment, new equipment suppliers, warranty requirements, and associated preventative maintenance procedures, is integrated into the maintenance management system.
