OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee and coordinate construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction management, project scheduling, and team leadership. This role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. The Construction Manager will work closely with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within scope.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 10 years proven experience in construction management or a related field, with a strong understanding of project coordination, with at least 5 years experience in storage tanks fabrication, erection and installation.
  • Proficiency in construction management software including ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Civil 3D, and HeavyBid.
  • Solid knowledge of construction estimating practices and techniques.
  • Familiarity with project scheduling methodologies and tools.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documents effectively.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively oversee quality inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, including CSA standards, OH&S and the ability to implement safety plans and risk management strategies.
  • Proven leadership skills with a track record of effectively managing subcontractors, vendors, and field teams.
  • Relevant certifications in construction management or related disciplines are preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all phases of construction projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Coordinate project schedules using construction management software such as Primavera P6 and ProCore.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate blueprint reading and schematic interpretation.
  • Manage contracts and negotiate terms with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Utilize construction estimating tools like HeavyBid for accurate project cost assessments.
  • Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Implement time management strategies to optimize workflow and resource allocation.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Effectively identify key issues and processes that affect cost & schedule and an ability to manage risks
  • Understand contractual obligations, identify potential risks, communicate key terms and conditions
  • Monitor and control subcontractor progress, costs, equipment’s and budgets
  • Monitor site safety to ensure all personnel and subcontractors are always complying with established safety standards
  • Ensure subcontractors comply with legal requirements, buildings, regulations and safety codes
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with all appropriate policies, procedures, safety rules and regulations
  • Create, implement, and monitor system for personal vehicle and packsack searches on project site; aid Superintendent/General Foreman or Foreman in resolutions, as required
  • Report on work progress and budget matters to the GM
  • Apply managerial expertise to achieve financial and operational objectives
  • Manage subcontractor activities in compliance with the contract and prepare regular project activity reports
  • Analyze daily, weekly and monthly performance and productivity scores and compile monthly report for senior leadership
  • Reviews and approves subcontractors’ payments on assigned projects
  • Manage large prime contractors
  • Assumes responsibility for following corporate procedures in the conduct of subcontractor work
  • Report on subcontractor work progress and budget matters to Project Manager, respond to work delays

  • Select, hire and instruct subcontractors
