Position summary:
This position is responsible for working on one or more projects as directed.
The role includes performing critical materials testing observation services on various construction projects. This encompasses transportation projects such as roadways, bridges, and airports, along with large commercial developments, power generation and transmission facilities like wind farms and solar farms, healthcare projects, K-12 schools, and higher education facilities, among others. Critical testing and inspections may involve field or laboratory testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt, in addition to field observations and inspections for foundations, reinforcing steel, masonry, and structural steel. These processes aim to enhance durability, promote safety, and ensure compliance with project plans and specifications.

High school diploma or equivalent
Obtain ACI certification within 90 days of hire.
Successful completion of related internal safety certifications.
Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.

Under close supervision of higher level technicians or staff professionals, assist on tasks and perform basic testing and observations duties.
Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
Communicates information to Project Manager and discusses accuracy of data in preparation for submittal.
Submits documentation and communicates results as directed by the Project Manager
Will be placed in a progressively increased role of training and responsibility in work assignments.
Maintains assigned equipment.
Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects. Perform pre-task planning prior to executing work. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
Will perform assigned technical related duties as directed.
Will work with the surveying group, engineering group, support services, and administrative group as directed.
Works with the Coffey staff and clients in a way which will promote the goals of team work, client satisfaction, continual company improvement, and profitability.
Will follow established company procedures.
Will provide technical support as a member of project teams for other Project Managers.
Will participate in field crews as a party chief or rodman, as directed
Work with Project Managers on the following:
Performs technical-level work in preparation of reports, plans, drawings, or other instruments of service that require the review and seal of a professional civil engineer.
Participate in specialized surveying and engineering-related work based on needs and criteria established by review agencies, clients, government agencies, vendors, utilities, contractors, or other governing parties. Unique or complex circumstances may characterize these projects.
Participate as needed in other departments or as directed.
Will perform field and laboratory testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and masonry
