Barefoot Land Co. is seeking a sharp, self-motivated Construction Operations Manager to lead ground-up commercial self-storage developments across the U.S. If you’ve managed 1–3 projects per year with minimal oversight, know how to move fast and solve problems independently, and thrive in a remote-first environment, this is your next career home.
We’re a fast-growing national developer of Class A self-storage facilities. You’ll be leading your first project immediately—with the opportunity to manage up to 3 projects per year—owning every stage from site mobilization to ribbon cutting.

BONUS SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with self-storage or light industrial construction
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Barefoot Land Co., a fast-growing national developer of Class A self-storage facilities, is seeking an experienced and independent Construction Operations Manager to lead the buildout of ground-up, commercial-grade self-storage projects. If you’re a tech-savvy leader who treats every project like it’s your own business, thrives in both field and remote environments, and knows how to get things done without being told, we want you.
Barefoot Land Co. acts as its own General Contractor. In this role, you will function as the GC—directly managing subcontractors, contracts, and schedules.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Manage full project lifecycle of a self storage development (Current project is ~100k GSF, 6 single-story storage buildings with climate-controlled and exterior-access units, including full site development, and leasing office, estimated 6 month completion)
  • Manage all contracts, schedules, subcontractor selection & contracting, budgets, and reporting
  • Coordinate local field resources and subcontractors
  • Leverage tools like Monday, Procore, ConstructConnect, and others to keep everything on track
  • Communicate via Google Chat, Zoom, and shared dashboards for real-time updates
  • Travel to sites as needed for inspections, coordination, and problem-solving
  • Deliver every project as if it were your own investment
  • Identify issues before they escalate. You’re the one everyone counts on to make it happen.
  • Take ownership of developing processes, teams and operations to support the current development project and future projects (working closely with the CEO and Director of Operations)
