We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Planner / Planning Manager to join a leading building and civil engineering contractor in Co. Down. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with proven experience in construction planning, scheduling, and programme management to work on major projects across the region.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree or professional qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a construction planning role within commercial or civil engineering projects.
  • Proficiency in planning and scheduling software (ASTA Powerproject, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project sequencing, and progress monitoring systems.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and analytical skills with the ability to influence project outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage tender programmes and contract programmes to align with client objectives.
  • Create and maintain detailed construction schedules that optimise sequencing and resource allocation.
  • Use specialist planning software (ASTA Powerproject, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) to build accurate programmes.
  • Monitor project progress, productivity, and performance, implementing control methods and reporting systems.
  • Provide regular updates, progress reports, and performance analysis to senior management and project stakeholders.
  • Support Project Managers with programme development, critical path analysis, float management, and risk assessments.
  • Assist with tender submissions, including pricing preliminaries, preparing temporary works packages, and developing methodologies.
  • Produce comprehensive site logistics plans and written technical submissions to support bids and project delivery.
