Description

Gunter Construction is looking for a proficient and meticulous Project Accountant. The successful candidate will be essential in supporting our project team by managing a range of financial and compliance responsibilities, such as generating project billings, set-up project specific subcontractors/PO’s, managing compliance and reporting. We seek an individual with a robust background in construction project accounting, who is detail-oriented and has an in-depth understanding of the compliance requirements unique to construction projects.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Construction Accounting Experience
Job Costing Experience

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or 2 years qualified work experience
Prior experience in the construction industry
MS Office
Excellent written and verbal skills
Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize work.
Strong communication skills with a focus on teamwork, initiative, and dependability.

Responsibilities

Set up approved subcontracts, purchase orders, and Change Orders in Foundation Software and review for accuracy.
Manage subcontractor compliance such as bonds, insurance, waivers, billing accuracy, etc.
Investigate any unbilled project costs.
Generate and accurately process monthly billing in a timely manner.
Possess a comprehensive understanding of compliance requirements specific to assigned projects.
Prepare and submit all required lien waivers for project, subcontractors, and material suppliers.
Collections of assigned Projects.
Maintain project files and records.
Assist in financial and compliance aspects of project close-out.
Assist with any additional assignments upon request of supervisor
