About the Role

We’re looking for a driven Construction Manager to join Prestige Civil Group and take the lead on exciting road and civil infrastructure projects across Melbourne. Based in Bayswater North, this full-time role is your chance to not only deliver high-quality projects but also play a hands-on role in growing the business and shaping our future.

You'll report directly to the General Manager and working as part of a collaborative team.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead civil road construction projects from tender through to handover
• Drive project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and on-site delivery
• Build strong relationships with clients, councils, contractors, and suppliers
• Identify opportunities, prepare winning submissions, and grow new business in both local government and private markets
• Keep projects on track by managing risks, budgets, and performance with a focus on results
• Champion safety and quality, ensuring every project reflects our high standards
• Contribute new ideas to improve how we deliver and expand into new markets

What We’re Looking For

• Experienced Construction Manager with a strong background in civil and road projects
• Proven ability to win work and build lasting client relationships
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with a “make it happen” attitude
• Track record of delivering complex projects in the local government space
• Confident with estimating, project costing, and Excel
• Victorian Driver’s Licence and Red/White Construction Card

Position Title: Construction Project Manager

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: A$90,000 ~ A$98,000 per annum plus superannuation

Work Location: SHORTLAND NSW

Work Arrangement: In person

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Construction Project Management, Construction Management, Building Technology, Building Science, Civil Engineering or another highly relevant field.
• At least 2–3 years of relevant experience managing residential, commercial, industrial or civil construction projects.
• Demonstrated experience managing construction schedules, budgets, labour, materials, plant and equipment.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, building legislation, Australian Standards, quality requirements and workplace health and safety procedures.
• Ability to read, assess and interpret architectural drawings, engineering plans, specifications and construction contracts.
• Experience coordinating architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, tradespeople and relevant authorities.
• Strong understanding of tendering, procurement, contract administration and project cost control.
• Ability to identify project risks, delays and budget variations and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
• Excellent organisational, reporting and problem-solving abilities.
• Current Australian driver licence preferred.
• Relevant registration, licence or site accreditation may be required depending on the project and scope of work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan, organise, direct, control and coordinate construction projects from commencement through to completion.
• Establish project plans, construction schedules, milestones, budgets and resource requirements.
• Interpret architectural drawings, engineering plans, technical specifications and contractual requirements.
• Determine appropriate construction methods, sequencing, labour requirements, materials, plant and equipment.
• Coordinate the procurement and delivery of construction materials, equipment and services.
• Consult with architects, engineers, building professionals, consultants, tradespeople and technical workers.
• Negotiate and communicate with building owners, property developers, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare, review and contribute to tenders, quotations, contract bids and project proposals.
• Implement coordinated work programs across construction sites.
• Monitor project progress, expenditure, quality, safety, risk and compliance against approved plans and budgets.
• Ensure construction activities comply with relevant building legislation, Australian Standards, contractual requirements and workplace health and safety procedures.
• Manage and monitor the performance, quality and progress of contractors and subcontractors.
• Arrange the submission of plans, permits and supporting documents to relevant authorities.
• Coordinate required inspections, approvals and project handover activities.
• Prepare progress reports, budget updates, risk assessments and project documentation.
• Identify potential delays, cost overruns, quality issues and construction risks and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Lead and supervise site managers, project engineers, supervisors, forepersons, subcontractors and tradespeople as required.
• Maintain effective communication with clients and key stakeholders throughout the construction process.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget and in accordance with the required quality standards.

These responsibilities reflect the official ANZSCO functions for Construction Project Managers, including the management of construction schedules, procurement, contractors, budgets, compliance, inspections and project resources.
