JOB TITLE: PROJECT MANAGER - RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION CUSTOM HOMES

Stillwater is a full-service residential construction company serving the Greater Victoria area and surrounding Gulf Islands. We specialize in building West Coast inspired energy efficient homes, and our team is growing. As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the effective execution of any project under your care. This position oversees all aspects of the project, including client care, tendering, contracting, coordination, technical support, quality control, safety, scheduling, and budgeting. You will work directly with the President of Stillwater, the Construction Manager, and our Estimator as well as with the Site Leads, ensuring cohesion and harmony within the project team while maintaining a focus on project success.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have at least 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in construction
  • A comprehensive understanding of the BC Building Code.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented.
  • Strong written and conversational communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Self-motivated and self-starter.
  • Able to maintain professionalism and composure in difficult, emotional, or high-stress situations.
  • Motivated in the pursuit of personal growth and growth of the team.
  • Proficient with Google Workspace
  • Strong abilities in prioritizing and managing time effectively.
  • Dependable team player with a proactive attitude to anticipate company requirements.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities
  • Create and manage project timelines (before and during the project).
  • Support Construction Manager and Site Leads in scheduling, technical detailing, and training.
  • Conduct client meetings to inform and update clients throughout the project duration.
  • Manage project budgets, including completing monthly budget reconciliations and reporting to clients.
  • Create and manage scopes of work, ensuring appropriate project planning and timely completions.
  • Create tenders for contracted work, liaise with the project team for resolution and execute contracts accordingly.
  • Coordinate procurement of equipment and materials.
  • Perform regular quality control checks on self-performed and subcontracted works, ensuring all work is completed to a suitable level.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with all Site Leads to maintain project and company controls and processes, promote communications, implement training, and support company safety policies.
  • Assist in employee assessments, including mentorship, goal setting, and motivation to junior and middle-management staff members.
  • Attend weekly management meetings
  • Assist with company safety program, ensuring participation and compliance, as well as implementation and monitoring of new initiatives.
  • Additional duties as needed or assigned may arise.
