THE OPPORTUNITY:

Tetra Tech is adding a Construction Project Manager to our Alberta Transportation team based in Edmonton, AB.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Civil Engineering Technology Diploma from a recognized technical school or several years of practical experience.
  • Several years of professional drafting and design experience, preferably in the consulting industry.
  • Experience with design and drafting for local municipal or provincial clients would be preferred.
  • Alternative Delivery design, drafting and submission experience would be considered an asset.
  • Must have a good overall understanding of Civil engineering principals and Alberta provincial engineering and drawing standards.
  • Previous experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D or Bentley MicroStation.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Possess a strong ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with staff and clients.
  • Solid understanding of survey layout and interpretation of detailed design drawings.
  • Field inspection, materials testing or survey experience would be considered a strong asset.
Responsibilities
  • Supporting projects through planning, design, procurement, and construction work for roadway, municipal, structural and airport related infrastructure assignments.
  • Prepare design drawings and report figures for functional, preliminary and detail designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software.
  • Preparing engineering reports and business proposals.
  • Provide Highway design and design guidance to other team members.
  • Liaison with all discipline team members, sub consultants, clients and agencies.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Work with project managers to support the administration of roadway construction projects.
  • Apply project management principals and corporate best practices to meet quality objectives in the delivery of project assignments.
  • Work with project managers to support efficient delivery, meet project schedules and assigned budgets.
  • Interpret survey information to support preliminary engineering designs, quantity calculations and as-built constructed drawings.
  • Assist with field investigations to support business proposal or design preparation.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
  • Additional duties as required.
