Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver complex municipal civil infrastructure projects. The Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact with stakeholders, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
This role requires strong leadership, client management, and risk management skills, as well as the ability to mentor junior staff and guide multidisciplinary project teams.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Pre-Construction
- Review all project documentation, including tender contracts, construction drawings, specifications, addendums, geotechnical reports, and OPSS conditions.
- Lead the transfer meeting from Estimating to Project Management to identify risks and confirm key project details.
- Develop and approve the baseline project schedule in collaboration with the Site Superintendent.
- Identify and procure subcontractors, suppliers, and key materials.
- Review contract specifications to prepare and track required submittals.
- Prepare for and conduct pre-construction meetings with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders.
Project Execution
- Prepare and issue purchase orders, subcontract agreements, and project start-up documentation.
- Provide regular site presence to monitor progress, support the Superintendent and Coordinator, and address challenges.
- Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships through proactive communication.
- Oversee project controls, including scheduling, RFIs, transmittals, change orders, claims, and directives.
- Analyze and update monthly project schedules; issue narrative reports outlining progress and variances.
- Lead cost control efforts: monitor budgets, track costs, and support preparation of monthly payment certificates.
- Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers as required to maintain cost and schedule targets.
- Promote and enforce compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and company safety culture.
- Provide leadership in quality management, ensuring all work meets contract specifications.
Project Close-Out
- Track, maintain, and close extra work orders.
- Lead preparation of applications for substantial and total completion.
- Ensure timely submission of all final documentation, including as-builts and warranties.
Qualifications & RequirementsEducation & Experience
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or equivalent.
- 5–10 years of progressive project management experience in heavy civil infrastructure (roads, sewers, bridges, shoring, etc.).
- Demonstrated success managing multi-million-dollar civil projects.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project).
- Experience with B2W (Estimate/Track), Jonas Accounting or CMIC, and AutoCAD; knowledge of Bluebeam or Primavera P6 is an asset.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $90,000 – $135,000 (commensurate with experience).
