Role Summary:
The role of the Project Manager/QA is to assist the Senior Project/ Contracts Manager in ensuring that all projects are completed on time and within budget. Central to this role is the ability to assist the Senior Project Manager with the Histogram and Program schedule on a constant basis and take the lead on all QA procedures on site and with the Sub-Contractors. It’s imperatives that the Project Manager/QA links in with the Crown’s Site Management team to ensure all QA procedures are implemented as well as adding the required documentation onto Procore with the QA folders.
Risk assessments and method statements must be reviewed and maintained throughout the Project, along with all H&S standards on site, linking in with the H&S Manager and assisting when necessary.
Key Functions & Results Areas (Key Activities):
1. Assisting is ensuring appropriate levels of labour are on site on all Crown projects and ensure all operatives are fully compliant with regard to Health & Safety (H&S).
2. Assist with ensuring plant & equipment is on-site when required and that it is fully H&S compliant
3. Assist with ensuring works are carried out in accordance with drawings & specification
4. Formulate and implement site inspection practices to safeguard good quality installation and finished product. This will include quality assurance plans and Inspection reports regimes. All QA procedures must be saved on Procore within the relevant filing systems.
5. Assist with developing site -specific risk assessments and method statements and update during project if required
6. Assist with development and maintaining the Histogram and Program on site. Managing outputs daily and completing the Weekly Report with all information.
7. Complete all Weekly Reports that will be shared with Crown higher Management and the Client. Allow the Senior Manager to review all reports prior to issue.
8. Attend site coordination meetings along with Main Contractor / Client
9. Liaise with Contracts Manager and familiarise yourself with the Bill of Quantities in order to get an appreciation of project from commercial perspective.
10. Ensure incurred installation labour costs are in line with estimated costs.
11. Ensure attendance and preliminary costs are in line with estimated costs
12. Notify Contracts Manager immediately by email of any variations that arise on projects in order to allow a claim to be submitted to the Client/Main Contractor/Architect in a timely fashion.
13. Assist with re-measures of completed works on-site and submit to the Contracts Manager
14. Liaise with suppliers on delivery of materials and ensure quality checks are being implemented on-site.
15. Maintain a good working relationship with both operatives and the Main Contractor/Client
16. Ensure all works on site are undertaken in accordance with safe working practices and current Health and Safety legislation, be constantly vigilant to any actual or potential hazards, and encourage such vigilance among all site personnel
17. Safeguard the Company’s position by ensuring relevant site events are recorded and reported in writing to the Main Contractor/Client quickly and contractually. This should include daily site diaries and photographic records.
18. Set an example of the Company’s professional image at all levels of contact and ensure similar conduct from subcontractors and supervisors.
19. Any other reasonable duties as required by the directors, management or consultants appointed by the directors
20. This job may involve some travel and unsocial hours
Person Specification:
1. A construction related college degree or equivalent; construction science or engineering degree preferred.
2. At least 2 years’ experience in construction sector in a project management role. Must be able to read and interpret drawing specifications for building envelope projects.
3. Experience of the building envelope sector a distinct advantage.
4. Knowledge in roofing construction methods and practices, including safety codes and requirements
5. Effective communication, supervision, and managerial skills
6. Must have a high level of computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Microsoft Project is a plus
7. Excellent IT skills
8. Excellent organisational skills
9. Strong team player
10. Current drivers licence
11. Fluent English both written and verbal
