YOUR SKILLS & ABILITIES (REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture or Related field
  • 5+ years in project management experience within the industrial OR construction fields
  • Exposure to coordinating facilities design and construction activities
  • Exposure to Construction Contracts including engineering drawings and specifications
  • Exposure to Building codes and construction specifications
  • Exposure to construction safety and Safety Contract Management process
  • Exposure to project budget management including change order processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time both internationally and domestic
Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

The Construction Project Manager provides construction project management services for manufacturing plants (assembly, stamping, powertrain, casting, and paint), non-manufacturing sites and/or PDPM projects by overseeing all aspects of delivering completed projects. Responsibilities include the completion of all work including site/civil, buildings, and utilities infrastructure for assigned projects from funding approval through stakeholder occupancy.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Initiate and organize project teams consisting of multi-discipline members from engineering, finance, purchasing, safety, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Manage changing priorities and construction schedules. Possesses the ability to decide and act without having the total picture, can handle multiple and concurrent diverse projects with minimal direct supervision, and can coordinate activities with key stakeholders and other disciplines.
  • Employ rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult schedule and construction problems with effective solutions; probes all fruitful sources for answers; can see hidden problems; is excellent at honest analysis; looks beyond the obvious and doesn’t stop at the first answers.
  • Identify future issues related to construction schedules utilizing broad knowledge and perspective related to construction activities. Future oriented and can create and execute competitive and breakthrough concepts related to facility design and construction.
  • Demonstrate strong self-management skills by independently prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and driving projects forward with minimal supervision
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
