This is a seasonal 3–6 month opportunity GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Project Manager works with the Account Executive and Account Manager to manage Falkbuilt and Steelcase demountable walls projects (primarily) at the local level, including coordinating client sites with Architectural Solutions installation teams. The Project Manager is the central point of contact and ensures projects are completed on time and on budget. Primary responsibilities are to plan, schedule, and inspect the work of employees engaged in installation, maintenance, and service work. Conduct site visits to ensure the highest quality and customer satisfaction levels. Serve as main point of contact for all stakeholders during planning and installation. The ideal candidate can juggle many projects/tasks, manage countless details, and work well with others on the project team. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Provide on-site project management for Architectural Solutions installation teams * Coordinate project management activities with schedules for client, architects, engineers, designers, general contractors, manufacturers, and state and local jurisdiction * Point of contact and communicator for project including weekly and monthly reports with progress photos, identify issues before they happen, and find solutions * Work with clients to identify and define requirements, scope, and objectives during preconstruction and construction. Lead value engineering efforts and propose alternative solutions with the project stakeholders. * Attend bid walks as needed with the Account Executive/Account Manager. Capture information for the bidding process. * Read and understand bid documents and specifications. Articulate essential items and make recommendations for exclusions and inclusions. * Protect and maximize project profitability * Preview and prepare project proposal/plans and contracts including time frame, funding margins, and procedures and scope of work for contracts * Estimate installation of projects based on bid specs * Coordinate project team to ensure timely coordination of submittals, RFI’s, and plan revisions * Create and submit accurate Change Orders and Punch Item orders in a timely fashion * Coordinate procurement schedules and provide takeoffs to purchasing to ensure accurate and timely delivery of materials * Ensure quality standards and requirements are met on every project * Create and maintain project schedule using tools provided * Assess and develop relationships with local and Network installation teams * Initiate learning opportunities: train and develop crew members and sub-contractors on products and installation procedures to meet client expectations and maintain McCoy-Rockford’s standards * Participate in construction meetings and determine field dimensions * Check product for discrepancies and damage and communicate issues to responsible parties * Monitor and enforce company and client rules, regulations, and safety requirements and attend monthly safety meetings * Document and hand off fully executable punch list to Customer Service Coordinator * Maintain your customer site specific badge requirements; partner with Safety & Compliance Coordinator as needed Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time. KEY SELECTION AND SUCCESS FACTORS WORK EXPERIENCE: * Construction industry related project management skills and 2+ years construction related experience * 3+ years of team leadership experience * Knowledge of order management system/software preferred EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS: * High School Diploma/GED required; technical degree preferred * Can drive company vehicles complying with McCoy-Rockford’s driving standards and maintaining a clear driving record * Ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules (including Gantt charts), and step-by-step action plans * Ability to read and understand architectural and structural plans, as well as working knowledge of the local Building Code and Uniform Building Code (UBC) * Hands-on experience with project management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite * PMP, CMT, or Project management certification is a plus * Knowledge of approval agencies and processes for Division of State Architect (DSA) OTHER/PREFERRED: * Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and dedication * Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management * Effective problem solving and decision-making skills * Ability to communicate on a technical and professional level with project stakeholders * Skilled at negotiating with clients and vendors * Strong client-facing skills, both written and verbal * Adaptable and willing to embrace new technologies to help improve the design and construction process * Ability to travel frequently in the local/regional area as needed and provide personal transportation * Ability to effectively manage both Houston and Austin markets WORK ENVIRONMENT: (overtime, travel, physical demands, conditions) The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
