MCR Property Group is a leading independent real estate investment and development company with a strong UK presence and offices in key cities including London, Manchester, Birmingham, and Glasgow. We focus on developing new residential and industrial projects while managing a diverse portfolio of approximately 5,000 residential plots and commercial/industrial assets exceeding £2 billion in value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of project delivery from planning through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards
  • Lead and coordinate multiple work streams including design, procurement, construction and handover phases
  • Co-ordinate with the procurement team on project budgets, cash flow forecasting and financial reporting to senior management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including clients, consultants, contractors, local authorities and statutory bodies
  • Chair regular project meetings and provide clear, concise progress reports to the asset manager and senior leadership team
  • Develop and maintain project programmes
  • Identify, assess and mitigate project risks while implementing contingency planning
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations, building standards and planning conditions
  • Work hands-on with sub-contractors on-site to ensure quality delivery and resolve technical issues in real-time
  • Collaborate directly with the procurement team to manage site requirements
  • Lead contract negotiations and manage variations, claims and final accounts
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement best practice across all project activities

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience managing residential construction projects with values exceeding £10 million
  • Relevant degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or related discipline
  • Professional membership of RICS, CIOB or ICE (or working towards chartered status)
  • Proven track record of delivering complex multi-unit residential developments on time and within budget
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction JCT contracts and procurement strategies
  • Proficiency in project management software (MS Project).

Additional Requirements

  • Expert knowledge of current building regulations, planning legislation and construction standards
  • Experience with design management and technical coordination across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Strong financial management skills including cost planning, value engineering and change management
  • Excellent stakeholder management and client relationship skills
  • Advanced negotiation and conflict resolution abilities
  • Experience with sustainable construction methods and modern methods of construction (MMC)
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation (CDM Regulations) with SMSTS certification preferred
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel between projects as required

Working Hours & Conditions

  • Monday to Friday: 8:00am - 6:00pm (flexibility required during critical project phases)
  • Occasional evening and weekend work to meet project deadlines and attend client meetings
  • Site-based or office-based depending on project requirements - flexibility essential
  • Travel required to project sites across the region

  • Reports directly to Senior Project Manager or Development Director
