NRG Management, a family owned and operated business since 1993, is an SME contractor, service provider and prefabricated manufacturer based in Winnipeg; which focuses on institutional, commercial, industrial, and multi-residential markets.
We are currently seeking a successful candidate to join our team in the role of Project Manager - Mechanical

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • PMP certificate, or 3 years as a project manager in ICI construction
  • Mechanical Engineering, or Trade Contractor RSE for Plumbing, Pipefitting, Refrigeration or related trade
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workloads
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office programs such as Word, Excel, etc
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, office environment
  • Able to work in office Monday – Friday 8 am – 430 pm

Experience:

Responsibilities
  • Project Management for Mechanical and Plumbing related scopes of work such as Boilers, Chillers, Hydronic piping, Coils, Heat Exchangers, HVAC equipment and similar.
  • Attend weekly production meetings as required and provide updates related to each project (budget statuses etc)
  • Coordinate with Team Leaders and Estimators to ensure projects are budgeted, tracked, executed and commissioned correctly.
  • Review Contracts for key information, comply with contract requirements including but not limited to: site access, site safety, construction temporary infrastructure and any other conditions from the clients
  • Review and approve shop drawing submissions prior to submitting to engineers
  • Review and approve subcontractors, brief and orientate their teams
  • Have weekly or biweekly meetings in person with the site foreman (forwoman) for each scope NRG is handing
  • Ensure all codes, laws, regulations, and permits are followed for duration of project
  • Ensure proper site communication from members of our broader team, to senior manager, and from the client to all stakeholders
  • Bid or ensure bids are completed for change orders
  • Ensure completion of the work in a safe, timely manner
  • Prepare monthly progress statement against the schedule of values for invoicing
  • Ensure proper site commissioning including inspections, correction of any deficiencies, and post commissioning warranty
  • Ensure client handoff to sales and service team
  • Prepare project close-out documents (O&M manuals, etc)
  • Other duties as assigned by the Vice President / President
